Welcome to Girls on the Run of Coastal Georgia - a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls in grades 3 through 8.

Our Mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K (3.1 mile) running event with healthy living education. Our program instills self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training - all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community.

Girls on the Run of Coastal Georgia is an affiliate council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 150 locations across the United States and Canada. Girls on the Run International has served over 250,000 girls since 1996.

2010-2011 Program

Girls on the Run of Coastal Georgia is committed to making this opportunity available to more girls throughout Chatham, Bryan, Liberty, and Effingham Counties. We want to be a part of your community and partners in educating the whole child beyond the classroom. This fall we will offer the program to girls across Coastal Georgia two days per week for 10 weeks beginning the week of Sept. 13, 2010 and concluding on Dec. 11, 2010 with the New Balance Girls on the Run 5k Celebration. If you are interested in learning more about the program and bringing it to your community please contact us. We can put you in touch with parents, coaches or a principal who has experienced firsthand the positive effects of the program.

The following will be Girls on the Run and/or Girls on Track sites for the Fall 2010 session:
